As a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Mental Health I provide psychotherapy. Clients may (or may not) have a diagnosed mental health condition. I am competent in medications (types, dosing, side effects) and able to consult with your doctor. You may want help to navigate the system, find ways to motivate yourself (particularly around self care), need to talk things out or want to learn skills and techniques to better manage your symptoms. You may want short-term psychotherapy through a stressful period. You may struggle with negative thought patterns, fluctuating moods and anxiety and want more long-term care.
In my expanding practice, I act as a source of support to help individuals achieve their personal health goals. I can help by providing a thorough holistic assessment, taking a biopsychosocial approach. I can help you gain insight into your strengths and build on those to promote more effective ways of coping and improve your health.
